The PGA450-Q1 device is a fully integrated system-on-a-chip analog front end for ultrasonic sensing in automotive parking assist, aerial object detection, liquid level sensing in large fuel tanks, and unmanned systems for collision avoidance and landing distance measurement (such as no Human-machine, camera and robot) assistance. This highly integrated device enables a small size and cost optimized solution compared to the AON7401 discrete ultrasonic sensor solution. The PGA450-Q1 device can measure distances from less than 1 meter to 7 meters with a resolution of 1 cm, depending on the transducer-transformer sensor pair used in the system.

The PGA450-Q1 device features an integrated 8051 8-bit microcontroller and OTP memory for program storage to process echo signals and calculate the distance between the transducer and the target object. Full programmability can be used to optimize specific end applications and accommodate a variety of closed or open sensors. Configurable variables include the number of transmit pulses, drive frequency, LNA gain, and compare signal threshold. External communication with the PGA450-Q1 device is possible through the LIN 2.1 protocol, SPI or UART interface.
